Blessed And Highly Favored

We are blessed and highly favored. Amen.
Favor is God's help, assistance, provision and support.
How awesome is it that God's grace is undeserved, unearned and unmerited favor. What's even more amazing is that we ALL qualify for it. But some may ask, "how do we walk in it?" Faith gives you access and enables you to walk in God's unmerited favor. Faith is simply believing and declaring what God has done and is doing for you. When you believe that the favor of God is on you because of Christ's finished work, His promises of provision, healing and restoration becomes sure to you.
2 Corinthians 1:20 - "For all the promises of God in Him are yes, and in him Amen, to the glory of God through us."

Breaking Out As Butterflies

When I came to this school, I saw it as a fast and easy way to get a degree under my belt so that I could pursue other things in life. I saw it as my saving grace in only one way, but it has become so much more than that. The more that I learn in this school, the more I realize just how "religious" I had become and how much my supposed "relationship" with Christ wasn't really a relationship at all. I was too caught up in everything else going on in my life that I failed to realize my walk with God was stagnant.
I have come to realize that that was what I liked to call my "cocoon phase." I was sleeping in my faith. I had stopped actively trying to learn but God was still working quietly within me. Like a caterpillar when it stops eating, curls itself into its cocoon and sleeps while changing into something more beautiful than it could have ever imagined.
As I go to this school, it awakens my hunger more and more for what I don't know about God and makes me yearn to learn more about Him. I could say that I've already broken out of my cocoon and started flying but I haven't. I consider myself to still be trying to wiggle free, knowing that I'll be able to fly soon but I still have to find my place and learn more about who gives me the wings and the wind to fly.
We are breaking free, free of all the chains and weights that Satan has us shackled in. But we're not just breaking out. We, students, we are breaking out as butterflies ready to fly in the direction God leads us.

Revelation into Confirmation

So far at Empower - NBCA School of Ministry, my experience has been one of revelation, and confirmation. The revelation that I have had the most is that I am where I am supposed to be. I really struggle with wanting to know when, and how, something is going to happen. God has shown me multiple times this year so far that I am only to worry about today. Where God has me today is where I am supposed to be today. God is so awesome He shows me time and time again that I am exactly where He wants me at this point in my life. The confirmation for me has been that God has already been working on me for the call He has placed in my life. When God has a call on your life, which He has for all of us, it is our choice to accept the mission. My call is to go out and make disciples with the music God has given my brothers and I. I am in a contemporary Christian worship group called SEEK. I believe that God has a call on my life to bring others to the call He has on their lives.

Thank you for allowing me to share.

As a leader you will face hard times and good times. Some things I learned in chapel from a good friend of mine. He gave us leader tips. The first list was some hard things to look at. One was you will be disappointed. The next one was there will be much turn over with the team you are working with. You will also rarely receive a thank you, and it will be hard work. The next one he said was it is all about your team. It is not a career, it's a calling. Then we went over the list of but, which was the reverse of the list previously. The first one here is for every disappointment there is one that gets it. The second is God will draw amazing new people, and the third one is there is a reward. The fourth is working hard for God creates disciples. Love to someone is spelled T.I.M.E., and fire leadership is defined by fixing problems. Six is effective ministry comes out of pouring into your leaders. Then seven, discover your call. All these are important to know, and I thank Pastor Daren for this chapel. It helped me with my own ministry. Thank you again Pastor Daren.

Worship is Life

This semester has been such a blessing. I have been able to apply a lot of what we are learning here to my personal life. One of the main things that God has been showing me this year is that worship is a lifestyle. Music is my passion, and one of the main things that people associate with music within the Christian aspect is worship. It's so easy to fall into this thinking, but we should try to avoid the frame of mind that this is the only form of worship. God intended our entire lives to be worship to Him. That means our relationships, our singing, our giving, and our living should all be directed to Him and Him alone. Don't just limit worship to one part of life. God deserves everything we have including our lives because He is God and He gave up everything for us. Worship is a lifestyle, not just a time of the week we allot on Sunday. Thank you for reading this and I hope that you take this to heart. This is such a simple truth, but one that we all fall short at every day. Thank you again and God bless.

God Has Us

God has us. He has us in His thoughts; He has us in His arms. Joshua 1:9 common verse, it says, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord Your God will be with you wherever you go" (NIV). This is simply stating that we should not get discouraged because God is in all things. He will never leave your side. He is with you in the good, and in all of the bad. At the point you need Him, He is there. Just talk to Him. God is with you through it all; you just got to talk to Him.
